She has a Ph.D. in urban Climate model integrating Smart climate applications (GIS & RS) from Cairo University, Egypt. She possesses 18 years of experience in the field of climate action and Environmental Studies, spanning civil society, academia, private and governmental sectors, as well as international organizations and IPCC (The Scoping Meeting to draft the outline for IPCC’s next report, a Special Report on Climate Change and Cities), (Review reports and atlas “IPCC Sixth Assessment Report”) & UNFCCC Expert. She has expertise in statistical analysis and needs assessment in international projects.
During her time working as a climate change consultant with local, regional, and international civil society organizations, her experiences have ranged from being a Consultant & Head of Health and Climate Change Vulnerability and Assessment Team (World Health Organization (WHO), Egypt) to consulting for many Egyptian NGOs and international organizations in Egypt in the field of climate action, such as ICCROM, IPEN, CARE, and ICOMOS.
In addition to her research, writing, analytical skills, and curriculum development expertise, she has worked as a lecturer in the field of climate change for civil society institutions and academia through the AdapTM Project-EU/Egyptian Partners (Faculty of Science, Suez Canal University) and European Partners (University of Cetania, Italy – University of Klcipeda, Lithuania – Euro-Mediterranean University, Slovenia – National Observatory of Athens, Greece). She has also served as a trainer at the Natural and Human Resources Development Center at Cairo University Faculty of African Postgraduate Studies and as a climate change trainer with UNICEF. Furthermore, she has participated as PI & CO-IP in internationally funded research projects and worked as a Rapporteur for the National Committee on Problems of the Environment at the Academy of Scientific Research & Technology (ASRT).
She has extensive knowledge of the interlinkages between climate change, security, development, and the African context through her work as a Senior Programmes Specialist-Environment at the African Youth Union Commission (AYUC). She has also been a consultant for various Egyptian NGOs and international organizations in Egypt in the field of climate action, such as WHO, ICCROM, IPEN, CARE, and ICOMOS. Additionally, she has volunteered in civil society by organizing conferences and workshops in the fields of climate and environment and training in geographic information systems and remote sensing at several universities and institutions. These include Cairo University (College of Higher African Studies), the General Authority for Urban Planning, the New Urban Communities Authority, and the Egyptian Survey Authority.
