Yasmin Mansour is born and raised in Cairo, Egypt. In 2002, Mansour graduated with high honors from
Ain Shams University with a B.Sc. in Architecture Engineering, Urban & Planning department. in 2016,
Mansour received a master’s degree with honors in Construction Management from the American
University in Cairo, where Mansour is currently responsible for The Office of Sustainability as the
Sustainability Director. in 2017, Mansour has earned Sustainability Facility Professional (SFP) and
Facility Management Professional (FMP) credentials from the International Facility Management
Association (IFMA). Mansour masters English, French, and Arabic.
Mansour has joined AUC since 2008, first as Student Technology Assistant in Center for Learning and
Teaching. Because of her engineering background, she moved to Facilities and Operations in The Office
of Campus Planning and Design as Project Coordinator for years. Mansour was selected to run AUC’s
Office of Sustainability in 2015 as Sustainability Director. This position is concerned with addressing
AUC’s environmental challenges, including climate change, resource scarcity, pollution, and waste
management. Through this position, Mansour’s role is to improve and facilitate auc’s institutional
response to those challenges and promote more conscious decision making. In carrying out these
responsibilities, she always aims to improve the university’s operations, to strengthen its finances and
to enhance its reputation as a sustainability leader in Cairo, Egypt, and the middle east and north Africa
region. She always seeks to weave sustainability into the culture, mission and activities of the
University where Mansour succeeded to gain international recognition for AUC sustainability efforts.
